Tenets of Faith

Being a deity of contemplation, Xyco's teachings advocate always pausing for introspection before moving, blending inaction and action in the important moments in one's life. It is never incorrect to be certain of your act.

Holidays

The most holy day in Xyco's teachings is that of the Xycoian Flood, at the beginning of spring; every year the waters of the White Lake that gives Whitelake its name rise as icemelt flows down from the Barrier Mountains. On this day, the High Priest of Xyco contacts all churches of the Mantis Lord across the country and informs them to begin the celebration; worshippers are then encouraged to retire to their homes for a number of days, mentally cataloguing all that they are in possession of, spending their days in stillness and contemplation. Once the floodwaters recede, the worshippers only work the minimum amount to sustain their lives as they await the Action of Xyco - some form of phenomenon that would have proved disadvantageous or disastrous were they not sequestered in their homes - at which point they raucously celebrate for three days before returning to work.
