The Iceflats

Located in the very northern reaches of The Nonary Land, the Iceflats are the name for the area to the east of the Valley of Swords, and the north of the Shadowlands.
The residents of the Iceflats are known to be stubborn and standoffish, suspicious of outsiders. Despite being a nominal part of The Nonary Land, ostensibly under the governance of Whitelake, the people residing there have very rarely seen a tithe collector in several generations, keeping themselves to themselves by and large.
The primary avenue of interaction with the outside world is trading with the nearby Temple of Swords, buying livestock, rice, and sake from the Temple in exchange for blubber, oil, and a rare kind of tea known as Iceleaf, only growable in frigid temperatures under very specific conditions.
Beset every year by the Queenbite, the Iceflats are known as a place that very few can even hypothetically survive.
