The Children of Davaris

Legend holds that Davaris, as part of His forging of the world, first set His hammer to shaping ten draconic children - the Children of Davaris. After doing so, He turned His focus back to work in the holy forge, and set His children to work.
The ten Children of Davaris are all dragons, exemplars of dragonkind, five metallic and five chromatic - and each was given a task by the Forge Lord.

The First Chromatics were all charged with shaping some aspect of the world, terraforming it and filling it with flora and fauna as directed by their Father:

• The First White, straightforward and uncomplicated, was charged with shaping the cold places of the world, creating glaciers and tundras; places of uncaring ferocity and merciless ice.
• The First Red, proud and arrogant, was charged with shaping the high places of the world, creating mountains and volcanoes; places of majestic height and fiery fury.
• The First Blue, intelligent and calculating, was charged with shaping vast sandy plains, creating deserts and sandflats; places of enormous horizons and shifting dunes.
• The First Green, patient and planning, was charged with shaping woodlands, creating forests and glades; places of quiet shade and deep mystery.
• The First Black, solitary and boastful, was charged with shaping lowlands, creating swamps and marshlands; places of fertile growth and dangerous paths.

After sending out the First Chromatics, Davaris turned his mind next to what the mortal races of the world would need, and upon contemplation, he began work on the First Metallics, each charged with a lesson to teach the mortals he planned to fill the world with:

• The First Gold, wise and just, was charged with teaching mortals wisdom and learning; the knowledge arts required to develop libraries, schools, and other such places.
• The First Silver, regal and personable, was charged with teaching mortals how to build and maintain their settlements; aiding in the construction of cities and towns.
• The First Bronze, inquisitive and fierce, was charged with teaching mortals how to defend themselves; teaching warfare, self-defence, and similar things.
• The First Copper, capricious and jovial, was charged with teaching mortals the finer points of language; helping develop linguistic arts, writing systems, and so on.
• The First Brass, talkative and peaceful, was charged with teaching mortals diplomacy and peacecraft; ways to ultimately get along and better their lives collaboratively.
