Davaris, Lord of Sound and Silence, The Forge Lord

Customarily appearing as a vast, iridescent dragon with scales like overlapping shields, according to legend, Davaris is the one who was responsible for the very shaping of the world. Waking in an empty, barren world, the Forge Lord set about shaping the Children of Davaris - ten great dragons, five chromatic and five metallic - and sent them out into the world with various terraforming tasks, as he set himself to work creating other folk with which to populate the world. Upon finishing his work, the Lord of Sound and Silence went to slumber, trusting his Children to watch over the world in his absence, and according to his church, slumbers still, deep in Watchman's Peak - the very site at which the first hammerblows shaped the world.

An artifact of Davaris that was recently discovered is the Hammer of the First Forge - a simple-looking hammer of stone, legend holds it is the very hammer with which Davaris shaped his Children.

Holidays

The most holy day in the Davarian faith is known as Iron-Wrought Day - in the deepest depths of winter, worshippers gather in a large forge and watch a contest to see who can shape the most beautiful sculpture from scrap iron. Once the crafting is complete, a priest of Davaris will shape a small crown from whatever iron remains, and the worshippers then vote on whose sculpture most embodies the craft of the Forge Lord - upon which point the crown is awarded to the winning smith, and they are lauded and celebrated with ale, wine, and other such libations for a full week.
