Watchman's Peak

The easternmost peak in the Barrier Mountains, Watchman's Peak is known as a holy site of Davaris - supposedly the very site where he shaped the world. Originally surrounded by the sands of the Boundless Desert, the growth of the Forest of the Spider has overtaken the peak in recent years, causing the base to be thickly wooded.
The mountain has been largely hollowed out, many of its chambers converted into a settlement for Davarian worshippers; however, the Church abandoned the peak a long time ago.
The mountain is, in actuality, a dormant volcano - the magma supposedly the leftover slag from when Davaris forged the world into existence, and in the centuries since the Church departed, many of the once-settled caves and chambers have been flooded with molten stone.
When Arkis attempted to cross the mountain range, Watchman's Peak is the last place she made camp before she was never heard from again - the site of her camp is a hollow at the base of the slope, is used commonly for everybody who camps in the region, and a statue of the First Mage has been constructed in the center of the camp, hand outstretched towards the pass she is presumed to have died within.
For a time, The First Red made his home in the abandoned peak, and it is the site at which he attempted to steal the Mantle of Abditus, only to be foiled by a party of adventurers - the events that led to the Transition of Magic.
Ever since, the mountain has lain largely empty - Arkis's camp at its base used for the odd traveller, and a small group of Davarian worshippers who seek solitude and silence in its once-great halls being the only inhabitants.
